Paper Title
Application of Genetic Algorithm to Cryptography using Music

Abstract
This paper focuses on providing an effective symmetric key encryption algorithm which involves the use of piano music to encrypt a message. Substitution ciphers which involved the simple replacement of text with musical notes have been used previously. Although these ciphers are effective, they are highly simplistic and do not produce music that sound pleasant to the ear. The use of genetic algorithm ensures that the music produced sounds natural and soothing to the listener. The fitness function makes use of the normalized compression distance to evaluate the quality of the musical sequences produced. Using musical sequences to communicate a message allows the message to be hidden. Also, detecting that the musical sequence represents some kind of text is highly improbable.
