A Hybrid Firefly Algorithm to Test High Dimensional Optimization Problems
This paper proposes a new firefly based hybrid algorithm to solve unconstrained optimization problems. Firefly algorithm is integrated with bacterial foraging to develop a high performance computing algorithm. Two types of test functions, namely unimodal and multi-modal are considered to validate the hybrid proposition. The results obtained are compared with the parent as well as some standard and latest heuristics reported in the literature. The results show great promise for the hybrid algorithm developed. The hybrid algorithm proposed can further be applied to solve several practically useful problems of system theory and control using a unified delta operator framework.
