Isolation of Penicillium Species from Soil Around Raipur City (C.G.), India

Abstract
Soil may be advanced and dynamic surroundings within which the biological activity is generally ruled by microorganisms. Soil generally is capable of storing large amounts of organic carbon thus protecting groundwater quality but also contains some microorganisms as well. During this investigation, a total no. of 15 different species of Penicillium were recorded. These species were found maximum during Rainy season (37.75%) followed by Summer (33.33%) and least in winter (28.91%) as per the prevailing condition of Raipur.
