Paper Title
Preparation and Characterization of Nanostatins with Enhanced Water Dispersity and Lower Side Effects from Mushroom

Abstract
The present study describes a novel strategy to prepare herbal nanoparticles of statins from mushroom. Statins a class of drugs well known to treat cardiovascular diseases, but associated with the various side effects and issues, such as poor solubility and low bioavailability which, limit their application. Here, in this study, we for the first time used mushroom powder to prepare nanoparticles of statins to enhance their solubility and to overcome all the limitations associated with commercially available lovastatin drug. Prepared nanoparticles from mushroom were characterized using tools of characterization techniques such as DLS, UV-Vis, SEM, FTIR and HPLC. The SEM analysis showed the size of synthesized nanoparticles ranging between 60-90 nm and HPLC analysis confirmed the presence and elution of lovastatin at approximately 9 minutes. This study has led to the development of nanoparticles of statins with enhanced water dispersity and lower side effects with a potential to treat cardiovascular diseases.
