An Analysis on Perception of Impact of Sustainability Certification based on Location of The Tea Estate

Abstract
This paper attempts to analyse whether the perception of the impact of sustainability certifications adopted in tea estates of eastern regions of India differ based on the location of the estate. Responses from decision makers of 372 tea estates located in eastern India were analysed using ANOVA to understand the difference in perception. Economic, Environmental and Social Impacts emerged as the most significant Impact Factors for Sustainability Certifications. The perception regarding Economic Impact of certification doesn’t differ significantly amongst tea estates located in different regions. However the perception regarding Social and Environmental Impact of Certification differ significantly amongst the tea estates of different locations.
