Paper Title
Solvo-chemical Extraction of Ce(IV) using Organo-phosphorus and Organo-acid Compounds

Abstract
The solvo-chemical extraction of Ce(IV) was investigated with a liquid mixture of organo-phosphorus compounds in kerosene. The solvation of Ce(IV) was achieved by conducting 3-stages of counter-current extraction at a volume phase ratio of 2/3. Extraction data showed the formation of¯([〖〖Ce(SO〗_4)〗_2 ].2[P=O].[HSO_4^-]) into the organic phase.Further, stripping of Ce(IV) in its reduced form as Ce(III) was carried out using H2SO4+H2O2 solution. Stripped liquor containing 1.3 g/L Ce(III) was finally contacted with organic acid to precipitate the Ce(III)-salt. Precipitation kinetics showed good fits to the Avrami equation with the apparent activation energy of 8.6 kJ/mol.
