Abstract
The paper will discuss a detailed overview of who a white hat hacker is and why they are essential in enforcing cybersecurity measures. For the purpose of this paper, a white-hat hacker is defined as a computer security expert who finds weak entry points and vulnerabilities in systems and networks to assess their security capabilities. White hat hackers' actions and intentions give a basic definition of ethical hacking because they are used to build defensive strategies to secure the institution's critical entities such as data. The increasing complexity in business networks with the growing interconnection between mobile devices and computers and as more workers work from home and access business applications and enterprise network remotely poses significant threats to any business or institution and this necessitates the need to hire ethical hackers.
