Comparison of CakePHP and CodeIgniter Frameworks (PHP7)

Abstract
Recently, as per the market trends, PHP is an open-source, intensively-utilized, scripting language that supports distinct frameworks with improved functionalities. However, appropriate framework selection among diverse PHP frameworks relies on features offered by frameworks for distinct applications. PHP frameworks may differ from application-to-application. The best PHP framework selection according to application is possible through comparing and realizing their performances. Thus this work intends to explore the two significant PHP7 frameworks. It provides a detailed study of popular PHP7 supporting frameworks like CodeIgniter and CakePHP. It explores existing works in this domain and presents the comparative analysis from the aspects of objectives, datasets, approaches used, results acquired and limitations. It investigates the various studies pertinent to CakePHP and CodeIgniter frameworks of PHP. It also presents the comparison between CakePHP and CodeIgniter frameworks for obtaining an idea of benefits offered by these PHP frameworks and issues experienced in these frameworks thus providing an opportunity for their optimization and improvement.
