Paper Title
The Effect of Alumina Powder reinforcement on Mechanical and Microstructural Properties of Aluminum alloy Composite

Abstract
As per our investigation, the reinforcement of aluminum oxide has not been studied yet over the AA2014 alloy which can be used for aerospace structural, vehicle and marine applications with good strength and light weight. The present work focuses on increasing the strength of AA2014 aluminum alloy for purposeful use with its different weight proportion. So, the fabrication and characterization of AA2014/Al2O3 AMMC’s was done using a suitable casting process. Various tests like hardness and impact tests were conducted to study the mechanical properties of obtained metal matrix composite. And for the analysis of micro-structural properties, X-ray diffraction and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) were conducted on the prepared samples of AMMC’s. The impact strength value obtained via the Izod impact test is 16J for 2% Al2O3 and 18J for 4% Al2O3 reinforcement and the hardness values are 95.49 BHN for 2% Al2O3 and 82.45 BHN for 4% Al2O3 reinforcement. After all the tests, it can be predicted that the aluminum AA2014 alloy with alumina powder has good toughness, ductility along with the desirable strength and having sustainable applications in the field of material engineering.
