Paper Title
A Comparative Study of Lipid Profile in Pre-dialysis & Post- dialysis End Stage Renal Disease Patients

Abstract
Background- Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) patients are at high risk of cardiovascular complications due to disturbed pattern of lipid profile and this dyslipidemia is maximal in end stage renal disease patients but treatment of hyperlipidaemia in ESRD patients on dialysis is still not much documented. Materials and Methods- This Cross-sectional study was conducted on randomly selected 50 CKD patients on hemodialysis from hospitals of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh between January 2021 to May 2021. Serum lipid profile was analysed before hemodialysis and then again analysed after hemodialysis session given twice in a week for at least 3 to 4 hours per session. Lipid profile observed was tabulated & then analysed by using SPSS software version 16. Result- In this study, VLDL levels were decreased after hemodialysis & this was statistically highly significant. Total Cholestrol, LDL and TG levels were also significantly lowered after dialysis. As far as HDL levels are concerned, It was the only lipoprotein which increased after dialysis although it was non significant. Conclusion- Adequate dialysis treatment and time bounded monitoring of dyslipidemia helps in improving quality of life of CKD patients by decreasing CVD complications.
