THE REHABILITATION AND SOCIAL PERSPECTIVE OF PRISONERS

Abstract
Abstract - The purpose of this research is to identify the world of "Prison" is no longer secret; Prison have invited members of the public as volunteers to work with them for years but in the last two decades this trend has developed in an impressive way. This has helped to know about the prison, its inmates and their problem, Accordingly, It is evident that the Indian Prison System developing but yet not up to the mark. In the light of the above statement, the Indian prisons reform has had a long and unhappy history, which is more than the history of a movement and an institution; it is the history of such fundamental human problems as the nature of evil, sin, guilt, redemption and expiation. Now the penological thinking is blowing towards a new direction and the perspectives of prison laws had also been changed. Therefore, it is a very pertinent question how for the prison laws in India are standard ones for reformation of prisoners and what ails the prison justice in helping the inmates to return to normal law abiding citizen.'
