FABRICATION OF METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS/GRAPHENE OXIDE NANOCOPOSITES: SYNERGY OF ADSORPTION AND PHOTOCATALYSIS FOR REMOVAL OF AQUATIC POLLUTANTS

Abstract
Abstract - Metal Organic Frameworks (UIO-66) and its compositewith GOwere successfully synthesized by simple hydrothermal method. As-prepared material were characterized viz. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy dispersive X-Ray (EDAX), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM).In this report Rhodamine-B(RhB) was choose as model aquatic pollutant.Adsorption study were carried out in dark and Photocatalytic study were carried out under sunlight. The composite has better adsorption and photocatalytic activity than pure MOF. Synergy of adsorption and photocatalysis removes RhB upto 99%. Graphene oxide enhances mechanical strength, thermal stability and surface area of Metal Organic Framework. The as-prepared material would be an economical, efficient and greener, environment-friendly photocatalyst for successive removal of Aquatic pollutants.
