Paper Title
The Role of Green Spaces in Promoting Sustainability in Urban Areas

Abstract
Green areas are becoming an essential part of contemporary urban development, helping to make cities more sustainable and livable. In the middle of the concrete jungle that makes up a large portion of today's metropolitan landscape, parks, gardens, and other green spaces provide vital oasis that not only enhance but also considerably improve city people’s quality of life. Beyond just being beautiful, these urban green areas are essential for supporting environmental sustainability, enhancing mental and physical health, and creating social cohesiveness among metropolitan people. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how urban green spaces contribute to social sustainability. Maintaining current living standards and ensuring improved living situations for future generations are the two fundamental goals of sustainability. The social side of sustainability has been marginalized in discussions about sustainability, with a focus on economic and environmental factors. Globally, urban regions are facing increasing challenges due to the effects of climate change, resource scarcity, and growing populations. Green public space planning needs to be given top priority in cities in order to solve these problems and produce healthier living conditions. To quantify social sustainability, one must first define social sustainability. The study's literature analysis looks at how social sustainability is defined in different disciplines and highlights the elements that make up social sustainability. Understanding the techniques for assessing social sustainability is essential to creating a framework for social sustainability. Thus, determining how to measure social sustainability should be the first step. Keywords - Green Space in Urban Areas, Social Sustainability, Environmental Sustainability, Biodiversity
