Abstract
Software Testing is an essential part of software development as it assures that the developed software fulfills or executes all the functional requirements and is defect free and error free. It also ensures that the quality and standards of software are up to the mark. But in spite of plenty of tools available, there is no standard tool that is universally acceptable and the combined summaries of tools are very rare.The paper focuses mainly on the need to tackle this issue,the various testing tools that are already existing have been compiled. Ten categories of software testing tools including automated testing tools, performance testing tools, cross browser testing tools etc are taken and they are classified based on various features such as offline or online availability, open or closed source, input and output and many others.This paper aims to provide a comparative review of different testing tools based on various features giving users a bird eye view over the expertise of different testing tools and helping them choose the most appropriate tools as per the requirement. The derived analysis depicts the valuable insights which states that 18% of moderate level are acquired by integrating testing tools and 20% of low level are acquired by GUI testing toolsbased on the level of programming skills required by the user forusing software testing tools.Also,36% of online tools are cross browser testing tools and 46% ofoffline tools are integration testing tools.
