Paper Title
HEALTHCHAIN SECURE: A BLOCKCHAIN-BASED EHR

Abstract
This research focuses on the use of blockchain technology in Electronic Health Records EHRs to improve security, privacy and accessibility. A prototype of HealthChain has been created using a permissioned blockchain to distribute the EHR storage and sharing across decentralized systems. Methodologically, quantitative analysis of system metrics and qualitative assessments were used to study data security, accessibility, scalability and compliance with established regulations. Significant findings show that HealthChain resolves security issues, assuring data consistency and enabling secure information exchange between authorized healthcare providers. Smart contracts simplify the automation of healthcare processes and procedures. Implications also reach academia by adding to the discussion on blockchain integration in healthcare and practically, providing a proof of concept to facilitate development of a secure and interoperable blockchain-based EHR system. The study supports the implementation of blockchain to a larger scale in healthcare for enhancing patient care and data management. HealthChain offers an innovative approach to transforming EHR management and provides practical recommendations for the policy-maker, healthcare professional, or technology developers. This research provides a foundation for further study and development in the establishment of secure, efficacious, patient- oriented healthcare systems.
