Experimental evaluation of the LGS-Ferrocement Composite Member: Assessment of Flexural Capacity
Abstract
The present study is related to the experimental investigation of LGS-ferrocement composite member with box, I- section for slab panel and wall panel with Two different cross section arrangement and under two point loading. Two different section such as box section & I-section with 450 + 600 mm ferrocement panel on top with the screw spacing of 300 mm centre to centre distance . The wall section with 450.+ 600 mm and two Ferron panel on top and bottom screw distance remains same like box section. The experimental evaluation reports the load carrying capacity, load vs deflection curve and failure pattern of the box, I section and arrangement of channel sections for wall panel based LGS-ferrocement composite member. Further, the results are compared composite member and with bare section and two wall panels with different cross section are compared . The study reports that, the box section shows good load carrying capacity compared to I-section,channel section for slab panel and also Capacity of Cold formed steel is enhanced when sheathed with ferrocement panel. The observed results will be in direction for implementation of this LGS-Ferrocement composite member as a future composite system for building construction.
