Paper Title
Effect of Shear Wall, X-Bracing & Combination on Seismic Performance of Multi-Storied Building

Abstract
Seismic analysis and design of Buildings focuses on controlling the displacement and drifts of the structural components when subjected to lateral forces induced by earthquakes along with gravity forces. In order to resist the lateral forces, various resisting systems such as bracings, shear wall, dampeners etc. are used. This study compares the performance of Building Structure (G+25) for various mutual configuration of shear wall and X-Bracing in Etabs software. The structure was designed and checked by Linear Static and Response Spectrum Analysis method conforming to IS1893 (Part-1) -2016, for Zone-V with soil type2. Equivalent Static Method showed higher values of storey displacement, drift and base shear than the Response Spectrum Method. Models M8 & M10 performed better than other models in terms of Displacement, Storey Drift and Base Shear. Model M10 shows that core formed by placing alternate Shear Wall and X-Bracing together, gives better stability to the structure. Combination of Shear Wall and X-Bracing gives better performance than the building consisting only of Shear Walls or X-Bracing as lateral load resisting system. The combination stands economical than the structure consisitnh only Shear Walls. Keywords - Equivalent Static Method, Response Spectra Method, Displacement, Drift, Base Shear
