Strategic Risk Minimization in Agriculture: Surveying Techniques for Optimal Crop Price Prediction and Portfolio Diversification
Abstract
The survey explores reducing agricultural risk through crop diversification using data-driven methods and portfolio optimization. Reviewing India's crop price prediction systems, it highlights their limitations and practical needs. Employing historical data and Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT), the framework aims to optimize crop portfolios for better decision-making. The study finds that MPT and optimization techniques can enhance the resilience and profitability of farming systems in India.
