ADVANCEMENTS IN GRAPHICAL AUTHENTICATION: ENHANCING SECURITY AND USABILITY IN USER PASSWORD SELECTION
Abstract
This research explores the development of a novel graphical password system designed to enhance both security and usability. The system introduces dynamic number associations with images, making it harder for attackers to exploit user tendencies or predict image-based passwords. This paper contributes to the growing body of work in graphical authentication by addressing key weaknesses in existing systems, such as predictability and vulnerability to shoulder-surfing attacks. Through a combination of user studies and security testing, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the system in both usability and security.
