Addressing Pregnancy-Related Depression Through Alternative Therapies: A Pre-Test and Post-Test Experimental Study At Maa Chandrika Hospital, Lucknow
Abstract
Pregnancy-related depression is a significant issue in maternal health with long-term consequences for both the mother and the developing fetus. This study evaluates the effectiveness of alternative therapies (guided imagery, palm therapy, and Rudra therapy) in alleviating pregnancy-related stress and depression. Conducted at MaaChandrika Hospital, Lucknow, the study involved 50 pregnant women who underwent a 28-day intervention program. Post-test results showed significant improvements in stress and depression levels, with some remaining challenges linked to socio-economic factors. These findings highlight the importance of integrating psychological therapies with socio-economic support to effectively address pregnancy-related depression.
