Paper Title
INVESTIGATION OF PROPERTIES OF PULVERIZED CRAB SHELL POWDER FOR PARTIAL REPLACEMENT IN CEMENT

Abstract
Human consumption of aquatic sea foods is increasing day by day for its richness in protein content as well as increase in population. Sea food processing waste is becoming a major problem, especially in cities. Sea food Crab is a most common seafood due to its medicinal properties especially for cold in every household in Indo-pacific region. So, the crab shell waste is generated in a huge quantity in the cities. This shell may be recycled after processing in a structural and non-structural member. The primary objective of this work is to investigate the use of processed crab shell to powder form for use in concrete. Crab shells, snail shells, oyster shells, and conch shells are commonly utilized as partial replacement in cement, and concrete in studies. The study focus on partial replacement of Crab Shell Powder in the proportions of 10%, and 20% by mass of cement initially and conducted cement properties test as per Indian Standards (IS). Crab shell powder replacement in cement properties shows that the consistency water requirement increases and the setting time initial & final is within the Indian Standards IS code 12269. The specific gravity reduces due to the partial replacement of crab shell powder than the standards. Keywords - Crab Shell Powder (CSP), Crab Shell Ash (CSA) and Physical Propertie.
