Paper Title
EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON PAVER BLOCKS USING BED MATERIALS AS PARTIAL REPLACEMENT OF FINE AGGREGATE
Abstract
Paper production industry produces a huge amount of solidwaste called bed waste. These wastes create environmental challenges for disposal. This study focus to confine these wastes in non-structural elements. These wastes are particularly replaced for fine aggregates in proportions in the paver block and strength is assessed. The physical properties of the materials of concrete such as cement, fine aggregates and coarse aggregates are determined and they confirmed to relevant Indian Standard (IS) specification. The compositions of bed materials as well as properties are studied. The bed materials possess the required materials of the property and hence various proportions of replacement with fine aggregates are done. The compressive strength characteristics reduce in partially replaced bed materials than in control paver block with no replacement at the end of 28 days of curing. There is no linearity of decrease or increase of compressive strength in partially replaced waste bed materials.
