Smart Farming: Automated Monitoring and Early Detection System
Abstract
This paper introduces an IoT-based pest monitoring system developed using the ESP32-CAM module, Google Vision API for image analysis, and Twilio SMS service for real-time notifications. Traditional pest identification in agriculture relies heavily on manual inspection and expert judgment, which can be slow and inconsistent. The proposed system automates this process by capturing crop images at predefined intervals, analyzing them using cloud-based machine learning, and instantly notifying farmers if pests are detected. This scalable and cost-effective solution holds promise for enhancing precision agriculture, particularly benefiting small and medium-sized farms.
