Paper Title
Flooding Impact Visualisation using Augmented Reality: A Case Study on Expaosed Areas With Building
Abstract
Flooding poses a significant and increasing threat to urban environments globally, causing substantial economic damage and endangering human lives [1]. Effective visualization of potential flood impacts is crucial for disaster preparedness, urban planning, and public awareness. Traditional methods, such as static maps and simulations, often lack the immersive and intuitive understanding needed for effective communication and decision-making [2]. This paper introduces a novel approach leveraging Augmented Reality (AR) to visualize the impact of flooding on exposed urban areas with buildings. By overlaying simulated floodwater levels onto the real-world environment through AR, users can gain an intuitive and spatially accurate understanding of the potential inundation extent and its interaction with existing infrastructure. This project integrates machine learning techniques to enhance the accuracy and realism of the flood impact visualization, specifically focusing on the identification of flood-exposed building areas.
