Household Water Tank Management Using NODEMCU and ULTRASONIC SENSOR
Abstract
Water mismanagement in urban and semi-urban households often results in significant resource wastage and energy inefficiency.To address this issue, we present a smart water tank management system that automates the water filling process using NodeMCU(ESP8266),an ultrasonic sensor, and a solenoid valve.The system intelligently activates the water pump when the level drops below 25% and shuts it off at 90%,effectively preventing overflow and dry runs. A user-friendly mobile application developed using Flutter and integrated with Firebase enables real-time remote monitoring and manual control. Experimental results confirm high reliability,with sensor accuracy within2 cm and app notification latency under 2 seconds. The proposed solution is cost-effective, energy-efficient, and scalable, making it ideal for deployment in water-stressed regions. This work promotes smart resource management and contributes to the development of intelligent urban infrastructure
