Paper Title
Performance Analysis of IEEE802.11P with retry limits using CTMC
Abstract
The vehicular ad-hoc network is a specialization of the mobile ad hoc networks. The vehicular ad hoc network was initially proposed in order to ensure the safety of the car drivers. VANETs are self-organizing distributed networks formed between the moving vehicles stocked with the wireless communication devices. This paper model the MAC layer of VANET using the continuous time Markov chain. The standard used for the MAC layer of VANET is IEEE 802.11P.The data and the control packets are to be considered separately and the retry limits is also a consideration of this paper. For the model given in the paper, the stationary distribution will be obtained and the throughput will be computed achieved by each vehicle in the network. The birth-death process is used to describe the back-off process of the model. The simulation results are also given to validatethe analytical results of the proposed model.
