Paper Title
Speed Control of a Brushless DC Motor using Neural Network based MRAC
Abstract
This paper presents the design and performance analysis of Artificial Neural Network based model reference adaptive controller for the speed control of a Brushless DC motor. The model reference adaptive system is a competent controller, which emulates the reference model behavior efficiently. The paper proposes and implements an MRAC with Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to solve the problems of non-linearity and parameter variations caused by load excursions and varying ambient temperature. The performance of the MRAC based controller for BLDC motor drive system is compared satisfactorily with a PID controller using MATLAB/ SIMULINK.
