Paper Title
Phase Change Heat Transfer Analysis of a Spine Fin with Arbitrary Profiles
Abstract
In the present article an easy method of calculation is proposed for determining the performance of a fin exposed to various modes of boiling. The variable heat transfer coefficients of boiling were assumed by segments of simple power functions of superheat. These functions provide the analytical solution of the temperature gradient on the fin with excess temperature at the base as an input parameter which can be easily determined. Thus the results yield temperature gradient as a function of excess temperature over the fin surface and the thermal conductivity of the fin material. If the excess temperature of the fin base and tip are mentioned, the temperature gradients and the heat flux can be calculated. Few examples have been discussed to illustrate practical application of the problem.
