Periodicity based Cyclostationary Feature Spectrum Sensing Technique used in Cognitive Radio – A Survey
Abstract
This paper presents a brief survey of spectrum sensing techniques available for cognitive radios. As the number of radios users increasing day by day that leads to increase in the bandwidth. Recent research shows that more than 70% of available bandwidth is not utilized efficiently. Bandwidth becomes expensive due to shortage of frequencies. In Cognitive radios we can utilize bandwidth when primary/licensed user not using that by taking the permission from the primary user. Main critical task in cognitive radio is to sense the idle bandwidth that also called as spectrum hole. So our primary target is to select an optimum spectrum sensing technique that reduces sensing time and errors and leads to improvement in performance of CR system.
