Paper Title
Impact of Practice in Concept Learning of Computer Application Courses
Abstract
It is always contended by recruiters that university graduates lack practical knowledge. They feel that there is a large gap between theory and practice in the technical education. This study explores the relationship between the students’ performance in theory and practical subjects of technical education and more particularly in computer education. At the macro level, a chi-square test is performed to confirm whether theory and practice of the technical subjects are independent. The test rejected the null hypothesis and confirmed that the parameters are dependent on each other. At the micro level, k-mode clustering is applied to group the students according to the grades received in the end-semester examination.
