Paper Title
Growth and Proximate Composition of Waste Water Isolated Microalgae Coelastrella SPS. Under Different Nutrient Conditions
Abstract
Microalgae are heterogenous group of unicellular, prokaryotic/eukaryotic and photosynthetic organism having high economic potential. Coelastrella sp. MH 790444 isolated from highly Carbon polluted area is studied for its hydrocarbon storage, CO2 sequestration efficiency and lipid accumulation ability. The carbohydrate (288.07+ 0.64%), protein (48.17+0.84%), lipid (25.31+0.42%) µmL-1 and chlorophyll a - 1.67+.0047 µmL-1, chlorophyll b - 2.35 + 0.1032 µmL-1 content of the strain MH 790444 were estimated. In carbon depleted medium, the MH 790444 perform better lipid accumulation and growth. But in nitrate depleted medium it undergrowth the control sample. Lipid accumulation was analyzed by confocal microscopy. This study shows the change in environmental factors, especially stressed physiological condition has direct impact on positive cell lipid accumulation.
