Artificial Intelligence based Vector Control of PMSM Drive

Abstract
Vector control of the Permanent magnet synchronous motors drive is employed in this paper to achieve high performance. The basic idea of the vector control algorithm is to decompose a stator current into a magnetic field-generating component and a torque-generating component. After decomposition both components can be separately controlled like dc machine. To implement the vector control two-axis model is obtained for PMSM in d-q reference frame. A fuzzy logic controller is used here, and effectiveness of the control method is verified by simulation in MATLAB SIMULINK environment. The performance of proposed controller is investigated for different speed and torque command values and is verified through extensive simulation results.
