Paper Title
Development of SEMG Data Acquisition System for Prosthesis control
Abstract
This paper represents a novel approach of utilizing myoelectric potential generated during muscle activity for the real time control of an artificial prosthetic limb. A low-cost electromyographic sensor is designed and fabricated. The implementation of the surface electromyography sensor has permitted to develop the control of the artificial limb in a simple and effective way. The EMG sensor detects the small electrical pulse generated by the muscle from the surface of the skin and transforms them into an analog signal so that the microcontroller can interpretthese signals. After the successful implementation of the sensor, it is used to control a prosthetic limb through the Arduino platform. Arduino platform is used as a controller in order to facilitate interaction with the artificial limb.
