Khilafat and Non Cooperation in the United Provinces

Abstract
The paper studies the Khilafat movement and the Non Cooperation movement in the United Provinces. The national movement incorporated several social groups and developed new modes of struggle. The First World War ended with the defeat and the imposition of a harsh treaty on Ottoman Turkey. In defence, Khilafat movement was started by the Ali brothers and coordinated with the mass Non Cooperation movement for the attainment of Swaraj.
