Paper Title
Antioxidant Activity of Bacopa Monnieri, Tagetes, Withania Somnifera and Formulation of Polyherbal Hair Oil
Abstract
The objective of this study is to determine the antioxidant activity and thin layer chromatographic analysis of the leaves of the medicinal plants. For this study; Bacopa monnieri, Tagetes, Withania somnifera were selected. Their antioxidant activities were determined by measuring their DPPH radical scavenging and ABTS radical scavenging activities and were obtained in 35.08%, 32.12%, 17.22%. Antibacterial activity of extracts was done by using agar diffusion assay and their antibacterial effect was compared with some standard antibiotics. The polyherbal hair oil formulation always have activity and comparatively lesser or no side effects with synthetic. Based on these results mixture of Bacopa monnieri, Tagetes, Withania somnifera leaves were prepared in the form of herbal hair oil and were tested for hair quality activity, and evaluated for different properties such as; acid value, saponification value, viscosity. Our findings provided proof that extracts of these plants contain medicinally necessary bioactive compounds.
