Paper Title
Influence of Electrochemical Polishing Parameters on the Properties of Iron-Chromium Alloys

Abstract
Traditional mechanical polishing may result deformed layer and residual stresses on the work piece surface which affect durability of the components. Electrochemical polishing (ECP) is technique which gives fine, bright and stress-free surface. This paper reports the effect of process parameters on performance measure as surface roughness reduction and material removal rate on SS304 stainless steel. The results were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). It was found that current density is the most significant parameter followed by electrolysis time and electrolyte temperature. The results obtained were validated by conducting confirmation experiments. This technique sets an example for the other applications in the industries to reduce the performance variation and to improve quality and reliability of the products.
