Paper Title
Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis: An Effective Diagnostic Tool

Abstract
Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis-BIA is being utilized for measurement of several diseases in past decades. This paper reviews the technical feature of some major diseases diagnosed randomly by using BIA. Literature shows that this technique is mostly associated with the measurement of obesity, body composition analysis, sports medicine, pulmonary respiratory diseases, pregnancy, heart disease, chronic kidney disease, spinal cord injury and many others. The fundamental principle of BIA is Ohm's law. To compute impedance a constant current of safe range at a constant frequency is applied to the specific area of the body and potential is picked up to compute impedance. It is observed from the literature that BIA has been used by a number of researchers and physicians for diagnosis and treatment as well. The objective of this research paper is to highlight the major applications of BIA for major ailments. Most of the reported research demonstrated BIA is a useful and economical technique but still it is not very commonly used. This paper recommends the use and further research on BIA for improvisation of medical aids in terms of non-invasiveness and low cost.
