Paper Title
Improvement in Productivity of Lap Grinding and Capability Study
Abstract
Lapgrinding is a process of finishing the work piece where tool is made to slide over one another on a loosely applied medium and subject to continually changing direction of rotation. This produces microscopic fractures as the abrasive rolls between the two surfaces and removes material from both. There is high loading and unloading time due to manual method decreasing productivity with high manufacturing lead time. Implementing the new grooved loading and electromagnetic unloading method, the process is improved with productivity, decrease the manufacturing lead time and also to decrease the idle time of the machine. The components manufactured is defect free with high quality.
