Paper Title
A Qualitative Comparison between a Male and Female Dominated Manufacturing Organisation – Case Study

Abstract
The manufacturing sector has always been characterised as one filled with manual labour, long working hours and assembly lines. The gender gaps are very much rampant, mostly because of the stereotypes prevalent in this industry. Most of the women do not consider manufacturing as a suitable career for themselves. But in this modern age of additive manufacturing, automation, CNC machines and other technological production techniques together with increasing talks on the benefits of gender diversity in industries, we have to do more studies on the major issues women face especially in the manufacturing industry and find innovative and progressive ways to solve these issues. This paper aims to do a comparative study between two manufacturing organisations with a single gender dominating the workforce in each. A qualitative interview method has been used to better understand about the strategic decisions of both the companies, issues faced and solutions formulated by both. The paper also looks at how having a female dominated manufacturing workforce has impacted the company and can these changes provide the impetus to other companies looking to diversify their own workforce.
