Paper Title
Effect of Shear Wall in the High Rise Building
Abstract
Worldwide, high rise building construction has been growing exponentially, adding new problems that need to be tackled by engineering judgment. For modern tall buildings, wind or earthquake-induced lateral loads are always resisted shear wall. Shear wall system is one of the lateral load resistor system most widely found in high-rise buildings. Shear wall has a significant level of plane stiffness and strength that can be used to simultaneously support massive horizontal loads and bear gravity loads, which helps reduce the building's lateral sway, thereby reducing functional and physical damage. In the present period, Structure engineering has a crucial role to play with the development of infrastructure. We experience something new when and when an earthquake happens, and the profession grows to withstand it. In both research and practice models are primarily concerned with systems that will be secure in the sense of surviving a seismic incident along with a minimal number of casualties. In high - rise buildings houses, the presence of shear wall has become necessary for resisting lateral forces.12 Storied buildings are modeled and studied using ETABS software for lateral displacement, storey drift. The building study is carried out using the response spectrum method and the results obtained from this approach are plotted in graphical.
