Paper Title
Study of the Effects of the Shear Wall at Corner in Seismic Zone 3&4

Abstract
At this time we known that the population of the cities are constantly increasing , this increases the demand of house for living. Due to which cities are force expand constantly. The expansion of city can be occur in two directions i.e either in horizontal or in vertical direction. Hence horizonal expansion is limited because of available land is fixed but vertical expansion can be done by using latest design technologies we can build highrise multi storey buildings. As we known that Shear walls are widely used as vertical structural elements to resist lateral loads which can be caused by wind and earthquake loads. Besides that, they also carry gravity loads. A well-designed shear wall system in building frame dramatically improves seismic efficiency. This study aims at comparing various parameters such as storey drift, storey shear and storey displacement of a building under lateral loads based on strategic positioning of shear walls. In this paper we study the core shear wall in different seismic zone. we consider the seismic zone iii and iv. Core wall system has two important behavioral aspects where the first aspect is related to reduce the lateral displacement by the core bending resistance and the second is governed by increasing of the torsional resistance and core warping of buildings. the effects of closed section core in the last story have been considered on the behavior of models. This paper adopts the linear static analysis. The programme which is used is E-TABS.
