E-Learning and COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract
School education is one of the most important aspects of any country. School education is majorly affected sectors due to COVID-19 pandemic. The objective of this study is to investigate the perceptions of parents on online learning during the Covid-19 lockdown. A cohort of 120 parents randomly selected from different district of Assam has participated in this study. The data was collected using an online Google Form in social media platform. This study is an attempted to know the opinion of the parents such as the willingness to the online course, outcome of the online class, effects in the student’s mental and physical health due to online class and the infrastructure requirement for the online class. The findings imply that 72.5% of respondents agreed that conducting online classes may lead to the physical and psychological issues to the children and 27.5% of the respondents have no sufficient space or infrastructure at their home to attend the online class. Some recommendations are given for better learning during COVID-19 with less impact to the students’ mental and physical health.
