Paper Title
Effect of Sodium Azide and EMS on Yield of Two Varieties of Cicer Arietinum L.

Abstract
This paper present Chick pea is an annual autogomous species within the genus cicer. India is a major producer of chickepea (65%) followed by turkey (67%)in the world (Anon.,2005). It is used by whole community as pulse, sag and sweet as laddu and bundiya . in last decades the yield of chick pea decreas due to invironmental changes . It is necessary to increase its productivity. So the chemical like sodium azide and EMS have capacity to change in character of chick pea and produce new character. I use 0.1 to 0.8% of EMS and 0.01 to 0.08% of sodium azide and experimental study on M1,M2,AND M3 generation and found---- 1. EMS is more suitable than SA for creating desirable productive mutants in cicer arientum. 2. Desi variety found to be more suitable than kabuli variety for chemical Mutagenesis studies. 3. 0.8% EMS remain suitable for both varieties of ciecer arientum L. for increasing productivity.0.06% and 0.08% SA also proved to be suitable for kabuli variety in inducing variations.
