A Study of Causes of Stress and Stress Management Strategies among Students of Higher Secondary Schools with Reference to Bilaspur City Chhattisgarh
Stress is a feeling of emotional or physical tension. It can come from any event or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry, or nervous. In short bursts, stress can be positive, such as when it helps you avoid danger or meet a deadline. Young age is the crucial period because at this point youth faces uncountable changes in their life. Thus, they must enhance their stress management talents thus on live a healthy life once coming into the society. When a child enters into the youth age, they have to not solely adapt themselves to the new life and new atmosphere but also be accustomed with several new people, events, and things. Therefore, understanding the sources of stress among them and the way they will face with the stress is very important. The researcher found that the stress primarily comes from academic tests, interpersonal relations, relationship issues, life changes, time management and career exploration. Such stress could usually cause psychological, physical, and behavioral issues. This study finds the causes of stress among youth. So after identifying causes the researcher suggests that more emphasis can be given to development stage of kid into adolescence. More importance should be focused to the outdoor activities and make hostile learning atmosphere by minimizing the negative impact of stressors. The findings can facilitate the individual students, scholars, lecturers, career and counseling centers.
