Paper Title
Pandemic Psychological Distress in Education in India

Abstract
The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak was labelled a global pandemic by the WHO in March of 2020. It is of paramount importance to understand the psychological impact of this crisis on the minds of students and teachers and their reactions to stressful events to create meaningful and effective interventions. This research paper emphasis on impact of social isolation and its impact on the coherence between students and teachers. The current prevailing situation in Educational recession needs a psychodynamic approach to come out of the crisis. Psychodynamic places a large emphasis on defence mechanisms and unconscious mind, where upsetting feelings, urges, and thoughts that are too painful for us to directly look at are housed. Optimal application of psychodynamic approach offers the frame for acceptance of psychological stress in a more positive way and benefits psychological growth of students and teachers. We believe that including psychodynamic approach in the national public and mental health emergency system will empower India and the world during (and after) COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
