Dr. B.R. Ambedkar: Drafting Chairman of the Constituent Assembly

Abstract
This paper talks about the journey of Dr. Ambedkar from a staunch opponent of the Congress and Gandhi to the drafting Chairman of the Constituent Assembly. It reflects the reasons why did Ambedkar, who was a great critic of the Congress agreed to shoulder the responsibility of framing the constitution of a newly born nation. Focus is also put on the views and perceptions of various members both from the Congress and from the Constituent Assembly on the contributions of Dr.Ambedkar as the architect of the Indian Constitution.
