Paper Title
Statistical Analysis of Climate Change in Bengaluru

Abstract
Climate change is a scary prospect for the world's future generations. It leads us to ask the question, will our hometowns be habitable in the years to come? This paper analyses weather station data to estimate the trends in the climate of Bengaluru with respect to temperature and the number of high temperature days. This paper also highlights the problems the inhabitants of Bengaluru currently face due to the current climatic conditions and how these problems will worsen in the future due to climate change. It was found that the climate of Bengaluru has significantly changed. The average temperature in the winter season shows a 0.389 °C/decade trend while the summer season shows a 0.164 °C/decade trend in an urban weather station which parallels many neighbourhoods in Bengaluru. The variation in the number of high temperature days per summer has increased creating hotter and more extreme summers. Keywords - Bengaluru, Climate change, Heat stress, Urban Heat Island Effect.
