Paper Title
Biosynthesis of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles using Cocos Nucifera Leaves and their Antibacterial Properties

Abstract
Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) have been synthesized using aqueous extract of Cocos nucifera leaves. Calcinated and uncalcinatedZnO NPs and extract were tested for antibacterial properties against on B. subtilis, S. aureus, (Gram positive) and P. aeruginosa, E. coli (Gram negative) in the concentration range 0.625-10 mg/ml using well diffusion. Calcinated ZnO NPs did not show any antibacterial activity against any of the four organisms whereas uncalcinatedZnO NPs showed antibacterial activity against S. aureus and P. aeruginosa at 10 mg/ml thus highlighting inert nature of ZnO nanoparticles which can be further exploited for various biomedical applications.
