Students’ Perceptions about Learning Pharmacology at a Single Private Institute in Shimoga

Abstract
Objective: - To understand the current perceptions of medical students regarding learning and understanding pharmacology. - Perception of students regarding role of pharmacology in both clinical practice and research. Material and methods: This study was conducted in a private Medical college in south India. One hundred and one medical students studying in fifth term were included in the study and the standard questionnaire was given and response were collected and compiled. Results: The majority of the students (81.2%) felt pharmacology as interesting subject a well as important subject in UG curriculum. And 92.1% felt that proper understanding of pharmacology will make them good clinician. Conclusions: Students perception about the importance of pharmacology as interesting and helps in making them good clinicians. Keywords - Perception, Pharmacology, Students.
