DGS based Multiband MIMO Antenna for Wireless Communication
Abstract
In this paper, we have designed a defected ground structure (DGS) based multiband MIMO antenna for IEEE 802.11a/b/n/ac amendment applications. The designed antenna uses a square microstrip patch antenna and operates on 2.45 GHz to 5GHz ISM bands. The dimensions of the MIMO antennaare 79 × 90 × 1.5 mm. The MIMO antenna were simulated using on RT duriod 5880 substrate using HFSS. The simulated gain around resonant frequencies of 5.6 dB, impedance bandwidth of 40 and 50 MHz respectively are achieved. The simulated mutual coupling of -30.5 dB is accomplished using DGS. The simulated return loss of -22 dB and -19 dB correspondingly are obtained.
